I’ve been thinking lately about how much I’d love to know more stuff.  I’d love to understand in a deeper level about Business, Politics, History, Design, Marketing, Media, oh man so many things!  Even Finances.  I wish I had a transformation in my brain that would all of the sudden help me understand and be passionate about numbers, investments and all that stuff that my right brain sided abilities can’t stand. Yes, it’s all random stuff, but SO NEEDED to be understood if we want to expand the Kingdom of God.  And then is when God started to speak to me about how the body of Christ has different members and parts that working together can work out and create amazing stuff to bless people and lift up His name.  But at the same time God took me to the scriptures to the parable of the talents and to be honest I even cried thinking about so many people that have different talents (talents I would love to have) and they just don’t use them! Just take a look at the scriptures:

14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’

26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Yes, this is that scripture you always hear about and know maybe but, there are 2 things that stick out to me and I feel like I need to share.  In verse 24, the man who didn’t multiply the talents shows us that: 1) He doesn’t really know his master.  And 2) He is afraid, that means, he doesn’t believe he can make it, he is insecure.

Lack of identity and a poor relationship with Your creator is a HUGE DEAL.. Plus, they work together.  If we don’t have a daily encounter with our Creator, our Maker.. We won’t know who we are.  See.. He knows our characteristics, he knows our strengths and weaknesses, He knows our talents and gifts, and if we don’t have daily encounters with Him, then we miss the opportunity for him to teach us a little bit more of our own selves.  Yes, He knows us more than we do. He knows our heart & our thoughts more than we ourselves know them.  I’m pretty sure that in the parable of the talents, the servants that multiplied the talents, were people who had a relationship with their master, they knew him, therefore they knew who they were.  This reminds me of a kids story the awesome Max Lucado wrote many years ago.  Check it out…

Insecurities come from this world (a corrupted world that has a prince.. yah.. that guy.. the devil.. and he is the father of all lies).  If we let this world to determine who we should be, how we should look like and what we should do, we’re screwed because there’s no person on this earth that can be ALL THAT.  It’s just impossible.  We all are special because we’re all different.  If we all wanted to be like the world teaches us to be, then we would all be like cloned robots.  That’s not what God wanted when He created everything.  All God wanted was diversity because that’s how His Kingdom works.  Different people with different talents and strengths work together for His Kingdom.

So now I know, I don’t have to know everything, though I still wanna learn some things, I know I can’t be the best at everything because I need people.  People that inspire me to learn, people that inspire me to laugh, people that inspire me to love.  We need each other, but we won’t realize that until we understand 1) Who God is  2) Who we are  3) Who others are  4) How important God, ourselves, and others are.

Nowadays, 20% of the Americans are GPS users, and studies show that in less than a year the numbers will double. This shows us that we all look for a way to know our way to our destination. We don’t like to take long time to get to places, we want the fastest way, the easiest way, and more than anything, we don’t like to get lost on our way to our destination. In life, we all have a destination, a plan, a purpose, but sometimes, we don’t now the whole way to that destination like a GPS would because that will make us grow and walk trusting that someone is taking care of us from above.

We’ve been created with a purpose and if we discover it, we need to just walk towards it. The Bible says we’ve been created for good works which not only means to be kind and help other (which yes, it includes that obviously) but good works mean good things, things we’ll enjoy, things that will make a difference not only in our own lives but in others too.

But life sometimes has “flips”. From one day to the next everything changes and we feel our worlds are shaken and some of us sometimes think everything is lost. We all need to know that

There was a man named Joseph, since he was a little kid, he knew he was called to great things. He was so sure that everything he dreamed of, was going to happen. And suddenly flips came. His siblings threw him in a pit, then sold him as a slave. While he was a slave he got promoted but then blamed unfairly and sent to jail. All these flips! All these shifts.. but all of them took him to His purpose.

But he didn’t give up

Don’t give up! Though you can’t see the GPS, you WILL get to your destination. Life has just taken some detours, but you can’t think you won’t get to your destination.

So God always decides to talk to me in the most funny ways and random places.   Normally He does it while I’m running.  So some mornings ago, I was almost done , getting closer and closer to my house and I started to get so tired that I decided to stop and walk and while I was thinking “I’m exhausted, I’m about to pass out, bla bla bla.. I saw that the closest gate to my apartment complex was open ( this was my opportunity to get in through the gate that would allow me to get home faster and avoid the couple of blocks I had to run to complete my daily track, so basically, it was my cheating gate) So I took a deep breath and started running as fast as I could.  I don’t know about you, but when I run fast I look to the floor.. I don’t know if that’s the total opposite to the “pro way” to run, but I feel I run faster.  Anyways, when I looked up again, the door was closing and even though I ran as fast as I could,  I didn’t make it.  So God took the mic and started to speak.. “Don’t try to take short cuts to your destination, just stay running in the same pace and in the same track that was established for you to run.  Don’t stop, but don’t rush, just keep running knowing that there is a designed and established way you have to run through.  Don’t think that if immediate doors close, there won’t be another one later on the way.  It will be a door that will take you to the same destination, but just a couple of blocks farther.  Trust me, keep on running and a door to the same destination will open and will be even better because the results you will see in you will be greater”.  I guess sometimes we see opportunities, or open doors that seem to close and we feel like we missed the opportunity of a lifetime, but I think we forget that God has the control,  He knows where we are going and He knows when will we be ready to go through those doors so that we can receive full blessings. So.. well.. there are some things that I feel that can encourage others.. so I share them.. I hope it blesses you.  Oh, and yeah.. I ran farther and the next gate was open and I got to run my whole track, no cheating and probably better results on the workout right?

Be still

8 Jul

(Psalm 46:10-11)

Be still.. And know He is God

Don’t say a word, don’t move a finger, don’t try to make things happen.

God knows better and knows when.

Still also means UNMOVABLE, UNSHAKABLE.. stay still.. firm.. strong!  Let nothing make you doubt on what you are standing and believing for!  Let nothing make you doubt.. Let your faith IN HIS GRACE grow stronger everyday.  Always remember we belong to an unshakable kingdom (Hebrews 12:28), that means you walk in that firm stillness, you stay strong and unshakable without worrying and feeling discouraged.

We all are waiting for answered prayers, provision, promotions, dreams coming to pass, love, that car, that business or that house.  HE KNOWS!  And He is good.. and because He is good he’s putting it all together and waiting for YOU to wait patiently and to stay strong trusting Him.

Be still and just wait.  If you try to do it yourself it won’t be perfect.. but if you let Him do it, you will see how great He is, how wise, how loving, and how perfect He is.

What a friend I’ve found..
